Foreign Policy Report: Students are to write a four to six page report describing the conflict in Syria and analyzing the U.S. government's position. There will be serious grade reductions for not meeting all of the requirements below!
• The Report must be done in MLA format (in-text parenthetical citations) and must have an accurate and proper MLA work cited page. The report must use at least one reference source (Encyclopedia) and a minimum of 6most relevant articles (not blogs) from periodicals (newspaper or magazine).
• The report must include detailed discussion of each of followingin the order that they appear below:
1. Description of Syria's geographic location, type of government, and current leadership (Encyclopedia) one to two paragraphs
2. Description of the conflict (when and why it started) between PresidentBashar Assad'sarmy versus the rebels (who are they)
3. Description and impact of the conflict between the Islamic State (formerly ISIS) in Syria and Iraq
4. Involvement and impact of Hezbollah's (Lebanon) participation
5. Involvement and impact of Shiite versus Sunnis conflict
6. Involvement and impact of Russia (military and political)
7. Involvement and impact of Iran's participation
8. Impact and influence of Israel
9. Impact of the United Nations and their latest involvement
10. Analyze the foreign policy options for the United States and their consequences while also providing your personal opinion on each.
