Social problems The medical bills we have received total over $100,000; however, we are fortunate in that my husband is on Medicare and I carry supplemental insurance through the Teacher Retirement System. Six stents later, my husband is feeling better then he has in years. I shudder to think what would have happened if we had not had health insurance. My husband was treated with dignity and respect in the hospital.
