Discussion: Project Issue Email
Your work on the student degree progress project in IT at Regatta University has run into a possible issue. During lunch with Bill, an IT employee outside of your team, you learn about a newly discovered security vulnerability on the team's production server. IT is currently planning to run a software upgrade on the server this week to address this vulnerability. They cannot guarantee that there will not be any system downtime. Your project is not yet live, but there are ongoing tasks scheduled that may be impacted.
This update is out of your control; however, it is important that you notify your project manager and your team. You must email your project manager and your team with your concerns.
In this email, accomplish the following:
- Notify management and your team of your findings in a clear and professional way.
- Explain why this risk requires attention.
- Provide an idea to your manager on how you could mitigate the impact that possible downtime could have.
