Your small company prides itself on providing equal

Your small company prides itself on providing equal opportunity for all employees, regardless of such factors as age, race, or gender. It has several women and minorities in top positions, and the annual report always features photos that showcase the commitment to diversity. Yet, you notice that at after-work mixers and other social events, the groups are consistently far less diverse. No one is required to attend any of the after-work events, which are organized by employees on their own time and by informal invitation, often word of mouth. Still, they are great opportunities for people to bond, as well as to boost employee morale. What might this situation BEST suggest about the organizational culture?

A. The employees have a stronger commitment to diversity in a business setting than in a social one.

B. The employees are bigots and trying to find ways to shut out people they don't like.

C. The women and minorities simply aren't interested in socializing with anyone else.

D. The organization is indifferent to the feelings of all of its employees.

E. It probably doesn't say anything because it's just a coincidence.
