Your paper m. be 5-6 pages long, in MLA fon.. For more information on the MLA fon. visit the Online Writing Lab at Purdue Urnversity. Your paper must be free of plagiarism and spelling errors. Please, no folders and no pictures. Some of the paper topics will mquire additional research while others draw mostly on readings and topics we have already read and worked on together. Use quotation marks and some form of referencing system to document any words that are not your ONT. Include a Works Cited page to document your SOUrCeS. Be thorough. Give reasons for any claims you make.
Your paper be evaluated for accuracy, insight, thoroughness, detail, clarity and language usage.
Your paper grade be reduced by JO, for each class session that it is late. See reverse for detailed grading rubric. This paper is worth a possThle 30 points.
Paper Topics:
1. Write a thoughtful and informative summary of one of the following six chapters from Invitation to World Religions: chapter 2 (Indigenous Religions of North America), chapter 3 (Indigenous Religions of Africa). chapter 6 (Jainism), chapter 7 (Sikhism), chapter 9 (Shinto). or chapter 10 (Zoroastrianism).
2. Write a paper about one of the new religious movements discussed in chapters 14 (additional research beyond our textbook will be needed).
3. Write a paper about any aspect of Hinduism that particularly interests you.
4. Write a paper about any aspect of Buddhism that particularly interests you.
5. Write a paper about any aspect of Daoism that particularly interests you.
6. Write a paper about any aspect of Confucianism that particularly interests you.
7. Write a paper about any aspect of Judaism that particularly interests you.
8. Write a paper about any aspect of Christianity that particularly interests you.
9. Write a paper about any aspect of Islam that particularly interests you.
10. Visit a church, temple, mosque, ashram, center or other religious place, attend a service or take a tour and write about your experience.
11. Interview someone from a religion other than your oars. (This paper should be longer than 5-6 pages). Summarize the experience and describe the effect this experience had on you.
12. Create a topic of your own. If you choose this option, please discuss your topic with me before you begin.
