The situation
Your organisation, Widgets Inc, has seen widget sales decline over the past three years. The CEO has an idea about something that might bring in new revenue. the product/services will be Recruitment service-placement service, the type of service that Employment Agencies offer to companies. the company focuses on outsourcing of hard to find skills (IT resources) to companies.
Your role:
He needs an initial feasibility study done to see whether the idea could work. For the purposes of this study, you are his market research team, and need to report back to him on the state of the external environment so that he can begin to contextualise his thinking about existing and new products.
Your mission:
You will need to decide, in your syndicate, on what the revenue-generating idea is (it could be a new product or service). Compile a report on the macro-environment in which the new business will trade, including the main legislation that will regulate what the business may and may not do. Choose a suitable model on which to base your analysis.
