Assignment Description: Group Assignment

Each Unit during this class, you will be working with a group to make a group assignment. Each unit there will be a different assignment with different requirements. In order to receive credit for the group project, students must have demonstrated participation in the project. Participation is measured by the group discussion board, group file exchanges, and recorded group collaborate sessions. Every group member should submit a copy of the assignment for grading. Individual assignments will not be accepted. Be sure to review the grading rubric for each group assignment.

Your group is a task force that has been created to help lead performance improvement efforts. Your team has specifically been given the task of reviewing this year's Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG). Locate the latest goals on the Joint Commission website (https://www.jointcommission.org/standards_information/npsgs.aspx). Your team must pick five goals (one goal should relate to medications) to help the hospital start monitoring.

(The Ambulatory Healthcare, Behavioral Healthcare and Critical Access Hospital ARE THE ONLY THREE BROCHURES I NEED)!!!!!!!!!!! From the site

For each of the five goals that your team has chosen:

  1. List the NPSG goal
  2. Identify which department in the hospital should be responsible for monthly monitoring
  3. Identify risks associated with the NPSG goal
  4. Make at least five steps the responsible department should implement in their monitoring process

Your team will be responsible for presentation of the NPSG goals to each department at their departmental meetings.

Make a brochure for each NPSG goal selected (a total of five brochures) that contains the four points of information listed above that can be passed out at the departmental meetings.

Submit your five brochures for grading.
