Your company has decided to open up a new comprehensive resort on a tropical island. Your manager (me) is working with corporate senior managers to determine how best to structure this new enterprise. Your manager knows that you have been learning about organizational structures and has asked you to draft a document that 1) maps out 4 different possible departmental formats -- functional, product-service, customer classification, and horizontal work flow process, 2) analyzes the pros and cons of each, and 3) describes what this organization might look like if it were a "starfish." If you really want to demonstrate to your manager what a "go-getter" you are, you may decide to add a recommendation at the end of the report. If you do add a recommendation, be sure to make a strong and clear case to support your recommendation.
