Listening Skill Scenario:

Your company asks you to represent the company be part of a panel discussion at a management conference. The topic is "Workplace Communication Challenges," and the focus is "listening skills." You decide to do research to prepare yourself so that you can actively and intellectually participate in the panel discussion. Instructions: Using Internet research, locate at least 3 articles with suggestions for improving workplace listening skills (both verbal and non-verbal). Use full-text articles, not abstracts, to obtain the information. You will prepare an inter-office memo to me, including (a) Two- to three-sentence summary explaining why each article is helpful. Include the author's name, publication, date of publication, and link to the article. (b) You will also list at least 10 listening suggestions as bullet points. Make sure you research HOW TO write an inter-office memo before you tackle this assignment. An example of inter-office memo format is in the textbook, as well as online. Using a correct inter-office memo format is important, as well as the content, so you would need to save as a Word document format and submit it as an attachment. Begin your inter-office memo with an introductory sentence such as, "In preparation for the management conference, I found three articles of listening techniques. After discussing the articles, I will present a list with the most helpful suggestions." After the introduction, the second section should be the summary of each articles. Each article summary and source information should be in its own paragraph, so you should have 3 paragraphs for this secftion. The third section would be a transition sentence with 10 bullet points of listening skills. The last section would be the closing statement.
