Your Case Analysis is based on the case study:

"Box 2: India's Competitiveness Crisis" as presented on pages 29-31 of the following report:

World Economic Forum (2015): "The Global Competitiveness Report 2014-2015," Klaus Schwab (ed.), World Economic Forum. Geneva, Switzerland.

Your Case Analysis (also refer here to as"paper") should demonstrate an understanding of relevant key concepts and appropriate conceptual frameworks.

The following instructions are intended to help you to articulate your written work. They are clearly explained, but please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any doubts.

B. INSTRUCTIONS - How to articulate your Case Analysis

-Compulsory Format

- Font size:the font size should be 12.
- Lines: lines should be double-spaced
- Pagination: all pages should be numbered at the bottom right of the page.
- Printing: printing should be single-sided
- Length: the strict maximum is 1500 words (excluding Table of Contents, References (if any), Appendices (if any), and footnotes.
- You have to specify the number of words on the first page of your Case Analysis.

-Structure

The Structure of your Case Analysis consists of three (3) subtitles: Introduction; Main Body; and Conclusions.

Your "paper" mustspecify the subtitles (Introduction, Main Body; and Conclusions).

1. Introduction - 300 - 400 words (suggested)

Your introduction should revolve around the following questions:

a. What is Economic Growth? What is economic development? Can one exist without the other?

b. What are the five phases of economic development?

c. A brief explanation of the causal link between national competitiveness and economic growth

2. Main Body - 700 - 900 words (suggested)

In this section, you have to address the following points:

a. Specification of the 12 Pillars of national competitiveness applicable to any country.

b. Commentary on the value of the indicators in Pillar #11 and #12 for the Indian case.

c. State the rank (out of 144 countries) and Score (1 - 7) of the three subindices: Basic requirements, Efficiency enhancers, and Innovation and sophistication factors for the Indian case

d. State the most problematic factors for doing business in India

3. Conclusions [40 marks] -350 - 500 words (suggested)

In this (final) section, you have to:

(a) Identify the phase of economic development in which India is located (if it is in transition from one stage to another you must specify that)

(b) Select least two (2) of the 12 Pillars of national competitiveness requiring urgent attention in India, and explain the reasons for your choice;

(c) Briefly discuss to what extent India's economic growth is inclusive.
