Part 1 - Write Project Proposal

This assignment requires you to produce a written report pertaining to the topic for research you have chosen for this unit.

Report Structure

You must submit your proposal in electronic form in 12pt font. Maximum report length is 1000 words or 3 pages. Your report may follow a similar structure

1. Title Page (Title, Student Name, Student ID, Date) (Compulsory)
2. Introduction (no more than one page)
3. Background/ Research Questions and Hypothesis
4. Conclusion
6. Bibliography/References

Report Content

Your proposal must address the following key issues:

• What is the area of research?

• What are the research questions?

In addressing each of these questions, you must explicitly state your research questions and summarise your proposal and rationale. Your introduction must contain the following information: a brief outline of the topic being addressed in this work. The background will explain the topic in light of the problem you will address in the research area. The background will also highlight the research questions and your hypothesis on these questions. Your bibliography must conform to the IEEE style for referencing.

Part 2 - Oral Presentation

This assignment requires you to produce an oral presentation on the topic for research you have chosen for this unit.

Presentation Content

The presentation will discuss the chosen topic, it will present the key objectives of the project along with the background and literature review. It will also present the key findings of the project and your conclusions from it.

Presentation Structure

Your report may follow a similar structure

1. Completed Student Declaration (Compulsory)

2. Title Page (Title, Student Name, Student ID, Date) (Compulsory)

3. Introduction (no more than one page)
     • Present the Problem Significance and Purpose of study
4. Aim of the project or Objectives
     • Present the research questions, definitions, assumptions, limitations

5. Literature Review
     • The background on the research project and literature supporting the research questions and the key findings.

6. Key Findings & Critical Analysis
     • The key results obtained from the research and the analysis of the results and do they support the hypothesis proposed in the project proposal.
7. Conclusion
