Management Research Project Paper and Presentation:
A term paper will be required based on a research paper on a (1.) leader (manager) of a company and/or management team of a company of the student's choice or (2.) a management topic and its application in the workplace. The leader/topic needs to be approval by the professor. The paper will focus on management techniques employed relating to the class material. The paper should be a length of 5+ double-spaced, typed pages utilizing the MLA method of documentation and contain a minimum of 3 source references on research pertaining to the company, management philosophy, and industry. A brief presentation will be made to the class outlining your findings and research.
You can choose to select writing about a leader of an organization highlighting the decision-making and leadership skills used, or choose a contemporary management topic. For example, stress management in the workplace, how shorter work weeks affect productivity, or any other topic of your choice. Due Date: see syllabus.
The general outline to follow includes:
Paper Organization:
10% Introduction/Overview of Leader or Topic;
60% Explanation of the Leadership Decision-making and impact on company; or current research on how utilizing the management topic could impact management decision-making/outcomes;
20% Assessment/Recommendations based upon findings and future use of techniques and recommended implementation;
10% Presentation shared with the class (PowerPoint, summary of findings, and recommendations to consider.
