You are to use your sociological imagination and connect

You are to use your sociological imagination and connect concepts and/or theories in the text with concepts or realities presented in a theatrical film. For example, connecting racism and discrimination to the decisions that are made in Hotel Rwanda. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the film by using specifics and connect that to concepts from lecture and/or text. You should choose either a theory (one), or one or two concepts i.e. discrimination/racism.

The films you may choose from are: Avatar, Precious, Hotel Rwanda, Mississippi Burning, Crash, Once Were Warriors, Brokeback Mountain, Boys Don't Cry, Sicko, Religulous, Little Miss Sunshine, Slumdog Millionaire, The Big Short, The Danish Girl, Spotlight, Milk, District 9, Capitalism: A Love Story, Waiting for Superman, Lincoln, 12 Years a Slave, Warm Bodies, World War Z, The Help, The Butler, Frozen (Disney), The Imitation Game, Straight out of Compton, and Argo.

There are several very good documentaries on Netflix such as: Nanking, Hunting Ground, India's Daughter. There are too many to list. You are welcome to do a documentary from Netflix. However, please let me know beforehand.

You are not to pick a film of your choice BUT one from this list.

You are to write a 2 page paper demonstrating your understanding of sociological concepts and connecting them to the film by using specific examples. The paper should not be a book report of the film.Appropriate fonts and margins.
