You are the marketing manager for an appliance manufacturer. Your research and development staff has just told you that upon further product testing, they have discovered a problem with the company's best selling microwave oven. They advise that if a consumer inadvertently programs the microwave oven using an in correct sequence of steps, the oven may fail to turn off and can possibly create a fire hazard. The chance that this would happen is remote, but the risk remains. The microwave oven is the mainstay of your product line, and pulling the product would cost the company millions of dollars not to mention costing you your job.
