Of course, it is easy to give your opinion. But Charles knows that, in order for him to persuade someone, he needs to support his opinions with reliable facts and background information.
For this discussion, pick a topic that has no clear right or wrong answer. You are going to formulate a persuasive paragraph trying to convince someone on your point of view. If you like, you can use the topic, "Should we eat meat?" Make sure you review the lesson on introductory paragraphs before starting this discussion.
Write a sample introductory paragraph, including a sample thesis statement, in which you state your argument/opinion regarding the practice topic you've chosen to work with.
