You are against all of the current drilling going on in Pennsylvania by Marcellus Shale. You do not know what its LT effects will be on the environment, the community as well as the safety of the drill site itself. You just find out that the farm next to your company & community has decided to lease their land for a drill site. Although you have public water (not well) and do not plant any vegetables/food, you are afraid that the drilling will impact the environment and in turn, you. However, the leasing agent comes knocking on your door stating that the way the drilling is faced, the lines could very well go underneath your home & business. Because they may be extracting from underneath your property you can sign on with them and earn up to $1000/mth extra for your business and family indefinitely. The money would come in handy (think 529 or 401k) but you are unsure of its global impact. Oh what a dilemma......What do you do?
