The theme of this unit is "Identity." What similarities can you find in the problems faced by the narrators of The Woman Warrior and Hunger of Memory as they struggle to find their identities? How are the two narrators and their families different?

In Class Matters, bell hooks call for "an-your face critique of capitalist greed" to address the problem of the widening gap between the wealthy and the poor. Explain how you believe the problem developed and offer at least two ways to begin to solve it.
