Dear Professor Madan:
I am sincerely write the letter about my failing grade on Professor Constantinos Syropoulos Eco 322(Economics Seminar, 11655) class regarding to my paper plagiarism.
Falling a course due to plagiarism is very hard for me.
I was under stress for finishing the final paper and I was learning the right method to use citation. However, I made careless mistakes. I copied part of an online source but failed to use the right method to quote and I paraphrased it but forgot to reference it. It was 18 pages final paper and I wrote it on my own. I failed this class because of plagiarism.
I believe this sanction is too harsh. It's very hard time for me. I know this is shouldn't be an ask, I am graduating on June 2017 but I am interviewing companies in shanghai and will go back to work on April since I have only 2 online classes in the spring quarter. My schedule will mess up for falling this class due to plagiarism which means I need to take 4 credits more on last quarter. Tution under 12 credits is 1000 dollars each and 4 credits means 4000 dollars for me. My father is in court and my mother have spent all money for him. I am taking different part time jobs and selling everything I have right now so that I can pay winter tuition and I still own moneys to school. 4000 dollars is a heavy burden for me as to falling a course due to plagiarism. 4000 dollars can possible change my life. I wish mistakes can be understand and mistakes can be corrected.
