Assignment: Prepare an Ecological Building Plan
Instructions
Ecologic Design
1. Take the Quiz above and you will be given a building type.
2. Create a concept design. Write a section for at least three of the following benefits (your choice): Siting, Water Efficiency, Energy Efficiency, Materials and Resource Efficiency, Indoor Environmental Quality (note those with Bars this one may prove interesting), and Building Operations and Maintenance.
3. Write summaries for each section that describes how your concept building is sustainable from an economic, societal, and environmental perspective.
4. Include some kind of drawing as you describe your building. You can hand draw, use CADD, Sketch-up, Revit, or anything that will make a nice looking picture. I need at least one drawing to assist in describing your design.
Requirements:
1. 750 - 1000 Words
2. Section off as follows: Introduction of Building describing sustainability technologies used, Benefit #1 Analyses, Benefit #2 Analyses, Benefit #3 Analyses, My Closing Thoughts/Observations, References
3. See the Writing Evaluation Rubric for scoring. Same Rubric from Chapter #1.
4. Paper must include three different sources. List references at the end. APA format or equivalent.
An added bonus of 1 point per term will be added for the correct use of each/any of these terms. The term must be in bold and italics within the paper.
