If you've ever spent time with family, whether it is a grandparent, parent, aunt, or uncle, the memories you share doing the everyday things such as cooking are incredibly valuable. The memories created will be remembered in the years to come, long after the family members are gone "The Abuelita Poem" celebrates the Latina grandmother who cooks culturally ethnic foods and spends time with her grandchildren, passing on knowledge that she has inherited from her ancestors It is written in two sections. The second section explores how cultural assimilation into America has affected the traditional ways of the grandmother's life.
