Discuss what it is, its significance and focus particularly on one strategy that you would use to 'identify children that may need additional support to achieve learning outcomes'.
The first reflection should be based on the EYLF Practice 'Assessment for Learning'. In discussion we should make reference to the following key points: (i) Briefly state the different between 'testing' and 'assessment'. This should set the background for your reflection on 'assessment'. (ii) The overall purpose of assessment - why do we assess? What is the purpose of collecting and analysing data about children's learning or development? (iii) Describe and discuss some strategies or methods that can be used for documentation. (iv) Focus on one particular strategy or method/tool that you would use to identify and determine a child's need for support and potentially intervention. It may be a literacy development problem, social and emotional issues, etc.
