Write r in lowest term and determine real zeros of numerator

R(x)= 8x^2 + 26x +15/ 2x^2 -x -15

1. Factor numerator and denominator of R and determine domain. IF 0 is domain compute y intercept.

2. Write R in lowest term P(x)/q(x) and determine real zeros of a numerator. Then find behavior on graph of R. Plot every x-intercept and indicate behavior on graph

3. R in lowest terms, determine real zeros of denominator. Graph every vertical asymptote using the dashed line

4. Locate horizonatlor oblique asymptote. Graph asymptote using the dashed line. Find points which graph of R intercepts these asymptotes if any and plot points.

5. Using real zeros of numerator and denominator of R divide x axis into intervals and find where graph is about xaxis and where it is below x axis by selecting a # in each interval and estimating R there. Plots the points.

6. Examine behavior of graph R near each asymptote and indicate behavior on graph.

7. Put information together and get the graph of R.
