Case Study Details
The new company is called MyPlace.org. It was envisioned as the best of the most popular social websites rolled into one destination. The features of this site include an auction site where users can post items for sale. Connected to the auctions is an e-commerce function for processing payments. Along with auctions, users can post reviews about items bought or sold. There is also a general discussion area for topics not related to auctions. In addition, users can upload and display photos and other media in the gallery area.
The company plans to use a core of existing employees and hire the additional staff needed to support the new project. At this time, there are approximately 30 employees. That number is projected to grow to 100 by the time myplace.org goes live. Approximately 25% of those will be the mobile sales team.
