Adaptation and Design
Pick a story from the world around you - either from your life or a fable, fairytale, or traditional story from one of your cultural traditions. For this post write a brief explanation of how you would adapt this story as a performance today and do some visual research to share your vision.
find images or draw sketches for what the three of the main characters would look like
find images or draw three sketches that show what you would imagine the setting to be like
Note: These images can be literal or can evoke a mood or communicate something about the character or space.
In your response, make sure to include:
1. A brief summary of the original version
2. What kind of stage what it takes place on and why?
3. Who would come to see it?
4. What would the characters be like and how would they change from your original version?
A brief overview of what happens in the adapted version
An explanation of why you chose each of three images that you did and what they tell us either about the characters or the environment that you imagine for your story.
