Transportation technology has a profound effect on geographic situation. Improvements and changes in transportation technologies can change a city's connections with other places and dramatically alter a city's fortunes - either positively or negatively. The maps show the largest cities in the United States for 1800, 1830, and 1850. Write an essay which describes and explains these changes. The emphasis should be on transportation but there are other factors involved as well which should be integrated into the essay. You must use specific examples from Detroit.
