Problem:
Using your Definition Argument Brainstorm write an essay in which you define a word, concept, or idea. Use multiple methods to expand the definition and argue what its--according to you--true meaning is. Feel free to use some or all the ideas from the brainstorm. Additionally, provide examples that clarify and illustrate your definition.
Successful definition essays do the following:
- Have a clear thesis that argues an expanded definition of the word
- Uses known definitions to situate your point of view
- Uses examples that show the limits of the word (What shows the word and what doesn't show the word; what is the word and what isn't the word)
- Uses 5-6 paragraphs to address the prompt
