You will write your midterm exam essay
Prompt: Please read the BBC news article "Police Surveillance: The US City That Beat Big Brother" by Brian Wheeler (https://www.bbc.com./news/magazine-37411250).
Write an essay in which you respond to the contents of Wheeler's article. Did the City Council of Oakland, California, do the right thing in 2014 (when it voted to limit the focus of the Domain Awareness Center to only the port area)? Why? Why not?
You will be provided with a paper copy of the article that you may use during the exam. Your essay should have:
An introduction which includes the title of the article and the author of the article, a couple of sentences on the topic, maybe a bridging sentence to your thesis (or a really good transition), and YOUR thesis. Your thesis should not be "different people have different opinions." State your opinion. Including a "hook" would also be nice.
At least 3 real body paragraphs (TRIAC or TIAC construction, please) A concluding paragraph
Please cite your quotations and specific references to the article as follows: Brian Wheeler writes (reports, indicates ...), " ..." (5/20).
