1. Even though he is a narrator, nick is a centeral character in this novel. How does the question of his credibility affect our understanding of the story, its charaters, and itsthemes?( in other word can we trust him, and does that trust, or lack of, play a factor in how we perceive the story?)
2.nick makes the observation that " no ammount of fire or freshness can challenge what a man will store up in his ghostly heart." in other words, reality can never measure up to the dream we create for ourselves. Drawing on your own reading and experience, defend or challenge nick's assertion.
3. What is it about gatsby that makes him "great"? Why would nick believe gatsby's story deserves to be told?
