Assignment
Write an argument paper on the Best and Worst Films of the semester. In this class, you will write a paper that is 2-3 pages long. You should choose films that we have watched in class (do NOT write about It Happened One Night and Rebecca.) Explain why you think a movie is the best film and one that is the worst film that we have watched in class. Based on movie criteria we have discussed in class, argue why the movie is excellent or terrible. Remember: The paper should include the topics and terms from our discussions, readings, powerpoints and syllabus-do not mimic or use an existing film review. You should present your argument logically and provide evidence from the film based on the following qualities: character representation and development; significance of theme or topic; cinematography, lighting, sound effects, editing; and creative narrative styles. If you use any information from other sources, you must cite them MLA/APA style.
Format: The paper must be typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 point font, with a heading on the left and page numbers in the top right corner. You must use citations in the paragraphs and also include a Works Cited or References page, listing the film and other outside sources on a separate page at the end of the paper. This paper will be submitted on Blackboard as a TurnitinAssignment so you should be careful when using outside sources. You may use MLA or APA citation style.
