JUVENILE DELINQUENCY

1. Write an analytical history of juvenile delinquency in America. How do social, political, environmental forces, and economic forces shape the nature of childhood and delinquency?
2. Based upon your responses to question one and two, choose a micro theory and then a macro (or a mid-range) theory to explain delinquency as you understand it.
How does your choice of theory impact the story of juvenile delinquency? Please explain.

3. Please, choose one crime of delinquency to analyze. You will need to construct a statistical table, show the patterns of the crime, and use a theory to explain the crime pattern. You may help to tell the story by discussing environmental, social, and political forces on crime.
4. In examining your questions 1-3, why is all of this important? Why does it matter?
