Position Paper Homework
Choose any policy that deals with a subject you are interested in. Then write a 4-5 page paper in which you:
1) Write a two-page position in favor of the policy. Be sure to thoroughly explain why you favor this policy citing at least two peer reviewed sources to back your opinion.
2) Write a two-page position against the policy. Be sure to thoroughly explain why you do not favor this policy citing at least two peer reviewed sources to back your opinion.
3) In your positions for and against the policy, use at least two of the following arguments from Chapter 10 in your paper: normative, positive, anecdote, and evidence arguments. Clearly label each to receive credit. Normative arguments are arguments based on values and beliefs. Positive arguments are those based on empirical evidence.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
(2) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
(3) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
