1. Watch the movie in its entirety.
2. Write a three-page review of the movie. You must have a title page.
3. The review should include headings (in APA format) for the following sections:
1. Basic Information
2. Summary of the Movie
3. Historical Event 1
4. Historical Event 2
5. Historical Event 3
6. Critique
7. References
4. The Basic Information should include the following and written in paragraph form.
1. Date released
2. Production company and director
3. Actors and the roles they played
4. Theme
5. Format - (black and white, color, 3D, etc.) -
6. You must include the following statement in the Basic Information paragraph: "I have read and understand all the directions for this movie review." Failure to have this statement in this paragraph will mean a deduction of five points on the movie review paper.
7. Need citation.
5. Two paragraphs minimum detailing your summary of the movie. It is a summary of the movie from the beginning through the end. This is your opinion and telling about the movie so no citation is needed.
6. Two paragraphs describing each historical event. The first paragraph should describe a particular and specific one scene from the movie. This is NOT a description of the setting, the clothing or a general description of the period in history or about an entire war. It is one scene. It is NOT something that takes place over a period of time, but in one specific scene. This is your description of what you saw in the movie. No citation for the first paragraph at all. It is your words on what you saw. The second paragraph should, using research, tell what actually happened according to history. You should include telling the difference between what the movie showed and what actually happened according to research. This must be an event that you need to research to see if it actually happened or not, not something so general that everyone knows it took place. The idea of the historical events is for you to do research to find out what actually happened in history and compare that to what was shown in one scene in the movie. For instance, saying Lincoln was assassinated is not an event that needs to be researched. The second paragraph will need an in-text citation, so you will have three in-text citations at the very least. Again, you MUST have an in-text citation in this second paragraph. (In other words, for this portion of the Movie Review you will have a total of six paragraphs and at least one in-text citation for each historical event for your review, three being required).
7. One paragraph giving your critique of the movie and to whom you would recommend the movie. (Again your opinion, no citation needed.)
8. You will need a minimum of three sources, not including the IMDb site.
a. Do not use Wikipedia as a source at any time on any assignment in any history course.
b. Only one encyclopedia can be used as a source.
c. IMDb Website does not count towards one of your three sources
d. The movie itself or your textbook is not considered one of the three sources
9. Proofread for grammar, spelling and APA errors.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
