Essay # 1 Summary and Response to The Story We Tell: Race the Power of an Illusion.
1. Write a short (4-8 sentences) summary of the movie, The Story We Tell: Race the Power of an Illusion. Make sure to include the title of the movie in your introductory sentence.
2. After your summary, write a response to the movie. Do not try to respond to the movie as a whole, but instead answer one to three second level questions you have about the movie. (We will generate questions in class today.) Try to include evidence from the movie that backs up your response to your own question.
Remember second level questions are about interpreting what you have seen and cannot be answered by just stating the facts from the movie. Instead, you will interpret a detail or details from the movie, explaining what message you think they convey or what the director's intent was.
