In Chapters 7 and 8, N-B discuss the importance of two wars: World War II, or the "unforgotten war" and the Algerian War, or the "unacknowledged war." In both of these wars, Charles de Gaulle played a major role.
Write a short essay about the role played by Charles de Gaulle in managing France's image, reputation, and integrity during WWII and the Algerian War. Be sure to cite at least two specific examples of de Gaulle's actions and reactions during each of the two wars and say how you think they benefited France.
