English Short Essay
Choose a topic and then write a short essay about it. You may choose from the following genres from Farm: A Multi-Modal Reader :
• Children's Literature (Read pp 225- 234)
• Folklore (Read pp 235-240, 248-267)
• Food (Read pp 240 bottom - 247)
• Festival (Choose a farm festival and do field work / interviews. For example: North Logan's Pumpkin Walk)
• Popular Culture (Read pp 291-306)
Read from Farm: A Multi-Modal Reader -- the pages from Chapter 9 (pp 225) that deal with the genre you choose. Then write an essay that discusses a topic from that genre.
Requirements:
• Minimum 500 words; thesis statement and topic sentences for paragraphs
• Intro to subject
• Provide evidence or experience with topic
• Connect (explicate) to the larger discourse / conversation surrounding the farm
• 2 sources minimum
• Fully cited references in MLA style.
