The question we will attempt to answer in our researched essay is this: Does the term "Sustainability" have any valid meaning?
We have all seen the word used in a variety of ways, but Mr. Rosenberg wonders if it means anything beyond "vague ecological consciousness" or, worse, "recycling." If it's just another term for recycle or organic or bicycle then we don't need it. So the 2 sections taught by perplexed Mr. Rosenberg will investigate and try to determine if the use of this term "sustainability" is warranted. The format is as follows:
The experiential source can be an interview or a visit to a site which purports to be "sustainable." Information about site visits will be forthcoming.
Although this paper will be evaluated partly on the basis of the quality of research, it is clearly a paper which will rely heavily on an informed and articulate value judgment made by the writer. Begin looking for uses of the term in your daily life, for you will want to be as informed as possible.
