Scripture to be used:
Write a research paper on Romans 9:20-21. But who indeed are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Will what is made say to its maker, "why have you created me so?" Or does not the potter have a right over the clay to make out of the same lump one vessel for a noble purpose and another for an ignoble one?

St. Augustine uses Romans 9:20 at The Gift of Perseverance (Augustine 200, resource workbook 1.248).
John Calvin uses Romans 9:20-21 at Commentary on Romans (Calvin 314, Commentary on Romans)

Instructions for Paper:
The history of interpretation paper will detail the use of the scripture above. The history of interpretation paper must make use of sources written above. The final version of this paper should be 1500-2100 words (approximately 5-7 pages). This paper should trace the history of the interpretation of the selected verse, noting the theologians listed above. Sources used regularly in this course, like the Anchor Bible Commentary and Sacra Pagina will provide students with ample resources to find theologians not listed on the syllabus. Such commentaries do not count as significant interpretations for the history of interpretation paper. **Paper must be in MLA format**
