INSTRUCTIONS
In Module 1, you were assigned to write a research paper on either oral language (speaking and listening) or writing as it relates to English learners. You will submit your research paper.
As a reminder, your paper will address a research question of your choosing, but should focus on a connection between oral or written language and English learners.
Your research paper should include the following information:
• Introduction: Include a description of the topic and research question that you are writing about and its importance when working with English learners.
• Body: Include information on instructional strategies and assessments that an educator could use in instruction related to the language arts topic that you have chosen. You should include information relating to the impact of parental involvement, Common Core State Standards, and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). You should also include any additional information related to the topic that you consider important.
• Conclusion: Reflect on the information that you have provided in your paper and discuss how your findings can impact your practice as a classroom educator.
You do not have to write an abstract at the beginning of your paper. The research articles that you use in your paper should come from academic journals and should be no more than five years old.

In order to successfully complete this assignment, be sure to adhere to the following guidelines:
• Your research paper should be 10 pages long.
• Your paper should be written and formatted in accordance with APA conventions.
