Content: Write a 3 to 4 page report on the article: A Theory of African American Offending, by Unnever & Gabbidon, posted on Canvas.
Requirements are as follows: Title page (1 page long), Original content (4 pages, read below), Reference page (1 page long). Details of each of these:
Title Page: should include: Article title, authors name, year published, your name, class number/title, instructor name (page #1, but not numbered).
Original Content should include the following: this section is generally a summary of the article's themes (Pages 2-5 numbered).
Start by introducing the selected article and its purpose/goal(s). If available, why was the article written?
Then, write your review and commentary on the topics covered. For example, what is covered on each section of the article? Which criminology theories are mentioned or used throughout the articles? Based on what you have learned in this course, were you aware of these authors (if yes, how) if not, why not? why are these authors not mentioned in traditional textbooks (or in your textbook)? Do you think the authors are using theory in different ways than other authors (non-African Americans)?, Do you think the authors are using the findings in different ways than other authors (non-African Americans)? In general, will it make a difference to have more minority professionals (yes or no and explain your position); as a student and based on what you have learned so far, what can you do to improve the way we explain minority crime/delinquency?
