English Composition - Poetry
Assignment: Write a poem. Many students have found this assignment to be helpful because (1) writing a poem helps a lot of students get over their fear of poetry and (2) you get the experience of trying to come up with something artful and meaningful. Writing is often about taking risks, so give poetry writing a shot (I promise it's not too bad!). :)
Here's what I want you to do:
1. Choose one of the following ideas and write a poem:
Athletes who have just completed an exhausting run
Your recollection of a childhood experience
This class (ENG112)
The best concert you ever attended
2. There are some parameters to the poem:
Use at least three imagery references (any type you like)
It should be at least four lines
Does not need to rhyme.
