Topic: The effects of women having children while in prison.
You must "USE" 5 references. This means you listed five sources on your "Reference" page (notice I did NOT say "Work cited", "Bibliography", etc.) AND you have at least one "matching" citation for each reference in the paper. If there is no matching citation for the reference, the reference must not be listed on the reference page (in other words it does not count and it is an APA error to list a reference that is not cited).
c) Is your originality score 20% or less? Basically the originality score measures how "original" is your paper. Papers with high originality scores mean more material was copied. Too much copying leads to "cut and paste" papers. The penalty for originality scores above 20% ranges from a 5% penalty to a maximum of 50% penalty. If your paper is 20% or higher, you need to go to the originality report and take out material that is highlighted in color. (If you do remove material from your paper, be sure you do another word count to make sure it is still high enough to get the grade you want.) Papers with high originality scores also tend to have more APA issues. (This is part of Department Grading Criterion #5)
d) Is your paper submitted in a logical/analytical presentation? In other words, did you use "sections with heading"? Section headings are like "outlines" of your paper. They demonstrate how you "analyzed" the topic. How the information is presented (reflecting how the topic was analyzed) is a very important issue in 2 Department Grading Criteria: Department Criterion #1 (paper development) & Department Criterion #3 (demonstrates analysis). Thus, setting up your paper correctly can affect 40% of your paper grade. So, make sure you break down your paper into sections and have HEADINGS for each section. Don't forget that your paper should also have a Title page, Abstract page, and a Reference page.
Also related to setting up your paper correctly, Department Grading Criterion #2 is very interested in your conclusions (you can see everything this grading criterion covers by looking at the grading rubric). A major part of this grading issue is the relationship between "the selected topic and the core value of responsible stewardship". That information should be in the "Conclusions" section of your paper.
