Write a paper about Online Scams.
I. Background Information
The topic I choose is Online Scams. Online scams are related to Cyber Security and as the internet continues to expand into every industry, Online scams are growing in number day by day. Online scams are everywhere, from Social media platforms to our private email accounts and all these scams have one thing in common is that they prey on victim's innocence and ignorance.
Cybercrime is one of the lucrative business for Internet con artists as a result of which these scams are so prevalent across the web. While there are many ways one can be duped online, you can always learn to recognize the most common scams and keep an eye out for anything that looks suspicious. Some of the common Online scams include phishing email scams, lottery winning scams, online credit card/banking scam, hacking online accounts, fake antivirus software, hitman scam and fake shopping website, etc.
II. Project Components
The project will focus on different aspects of online scams, types of online scams, how these scams work and ways to protect ourselves from online scams.
III. Project Methodology
Data Collection
There are two types of data that can be used in documenting a project of this nature. These include primary and secondary data. Primary data is of the nature that the researcher has collected it on a first-hand basis rather than referring from other people's information. On the other hand, secondary information is a collection of any data which has been developed by other researchers, persons, and entities in one's research. The research will use secondary data where a critical and in-depth analysis of information regarding the topic will be drawn from peer-reviewed sources and books. Peer reviewed sources are article published in credible journals and analyzed through the peer-to-peer evaluations for the sake of publishing. They are highly credible sources with the capacity to provide an insight on the topic chosen.
