For this assignment, Relate to one of the example essays.
Focus on an experience that deals with one of the following topics and its importance to you, for your audience:
- learning struggle,
- race/ethnicity,
- your culture,
- your language,
- your connection to nature, or
- your relationship to someone important to you.
If you write about the last option, you are not telling me about your relationship with someone-rather-you're explaining why they're so important. Look at Amy Tan for an example of how to do this.
Evaluation Standards : Essay based on the following criteria:
•Essay is at least 3 pages long. No more than four.
•Discuss one of the above mentioned topics in your narrative.
•Provide at least one section of meaningful description.
•Provide at least one block of meaningful dialog.
•Narrative provides insight into your growth as a human being.
•Do not discuss anything offensive.
•Write for the audience of your peers.
•Paper must be double-spaced, use only 12 point Times New Roman font.
•Your organizational structure is clear and works to advance the reader through your analysis to your conclusion.
