For this homework, you will write a journal entry about the sociological perspective that seems to "fit" the social issue you selected for this week's Discussion. You might choose among functionalism, conflict theory, feminist theory, symbolic interactionism, and utilitarianism (also called rational choice theory or exchange theory).
Sociological Perspectives Guide
Functionalism, conflict theory, feminist theory, symbolic interactionism, and utilitarianism (also called rational choice theory or exchange theory) are sociological perspectives that one might use when studying human interactions in society.
The purpose of this guide is to help you determine which theory or theories best align with the social issue that interests you. Below each theory is an example of what you might do in real life using that perspective. Please note which examples interest you the most. You can select just one or all of them. This is an opportunity to practice applying the theories, so this guide will not be graded. Use the guide as a space to "try out" fitting different theories and examples together. Download the guide below or copy and paste your choices into a document, which you will revisit.

o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
