1) Write a brief descriptive account of one Latin American nation's independence movement, considering the duration of the movement (i.e. Did the nation gain its independence relatively swiftly or gradually?), and identify the socio-political factors you consider most relevant to that nation's independence movement.
2) What, in your estimation, was the most influential ideal to emerge from the French Revolution and/or the American Revolutionary War in relation to the Latin American countries' own revolutions?
