  • What qualities do you see in Oedipus in the beginning of the play?
  • What is Oedipus'' tragic flaw?
  • What admirable trait is revealed about Oedipus'' character in the scene where he discovers the full truth about himself?
  • Does the main character experience change throughout the play? If so, how and why? If not, why not?
  • What is the role of the chorus?

Language:

  • What did you like about the writing/language of the play?
  • What did you dislike about the writing/language of the play?

Effectiveness:

  • What was the playwright attempting to do? And did he succeed?
  • Did this play have an impact on you? Why or why not?
  • What did you learn about theatre from this play?
  • Overall impression: How would you rank this play (superior, good, average, or poor) and why?

Format:

  • Your answers should be typed with 10-12 point font and 1" margins.
  • Please keep the questions numbered for your replies (rather than writing in paragraph/essay format.
