Now that you understand the significance of plans and having the resources to execute them effectively, this readings emphasize the importance of analyzing plans so that you will have the knowledge to better formulate future ones. For this week's Homework, locate an urban area's long-term strategic plan. This can be your own community, or one you wish to learn more about. However, it will be used for several Homeworks, so you are encouraged to be sure you have ample information available to you. Before selecting your urban area, it may prove useful to at least briefly review Homework so that you select an urban area that can be used throughout if desired. Then, critically evaluate the plan, and recommend changes for improvement.
Include the following in your evaluation:
A brief description of the urban or regional setting, including demographics as location, population, major industries, and revenue sources.
A summary of the plan, including its date, location, and other relevant information.
An assessment regarding how well this plan addresses any four of the following seven areas:
a) transportation changes, b) expansion, c) increased needs for water and sewer services, d) street maintenance and repair, e) zoning, f) consistency with existing facilities, and g) emergency management in response to disasters or terrorist acts, including police and fire services. Recommendations regarding how would you change or enhance this plan. Support your report with a minimum of five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
1. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the course title, the student's name, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The references and Citations should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
