Write a 5 year career plan. In your plan, include where you are now in your career, where you intend to be in 5 years, and describe your plan for getting there. Break your plan out by years with January 1, 2017 being the beginning of year 1. Discuss courses, training and any other tasks that must be accomplished to achieve your career goal. Describe in detail all steps that you must take to meet your goal. Discuss barriers that may stand in your way. And, discuss how you intend to deal with those barriers.
