From this module, you have learned that there are inheritable diseases that are autosomal related and there are inheritable diseases that are sex-linked. Research and find an inherited disease, list its name, whether it is autosomal or sex-linked, is it dominant or recessive, what is its symptom, list one famous person that has been diagnosed with it/ or list the life expectancy of this disease. Given our ability to screen for various inheritable diseases, would you ever ask a potential spouse to submit to screening? If you yourself were found to carry an allele for a severely debilitating genetic disorder, would you be deterred from having children that were biologically yours?
