Witnessing the accident through the live broadcast

Problem:

Tom was a pianist, and his wife Susan was his manager. Company A, an entertainment company, invited Tom to perform in its anniversary show, and Tom agreed. The anniversary show was conducted in a hall of Company A, and the performance stage was constructed by Company B, a contractor of Company A. Tom needed to climb up to a 10-meter-high platform without any equipment or safety measures and played the piano. Unfortunately, during the performance, the platform shook and Tom fell down from the platform. Susan immediately went up to the stage and found that Tom was seriously injured. Tom was sent to a hospital, and the doctor advised that Tom could be vegetative.

The anniversary show was broadcasted by social media. Tom's mother, Sally, witnessed the accident through the live broadcast and suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Susan contacted Company A and Company B for compensation. Company A refused as the stage was constructed by Company B. Company B also refused as Company B was only the agent of Company A.
